Fifty second Sarga

ಸ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಪರಮಪ್ರೀತೋ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಮಹಾಬಲಃ |
ಪ್ರಣತೋ ವಿನಯಾದ್ವೀರೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ಜಪತಾಂ ವರಮ್ ||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾಬಲಃ ವೀರಃ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಸ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಪರಮಪ್ರೀತೋ ವಿನಯಾತ್ ಜಪತಾಂ ವರಂ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ಪ್ರಣತೋ ||

Delighted seeing the same the mighty and strong Viswamitra then offered salutations with due respect to the sage Vasishta who is the best among those who to meditate.

ಸ್ವಾಗತಂ ತವ ಚೇತ್ಯುಕ್ತೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೇನ ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ |
ಆಸನಂ ಚಾಪ್ಯ ಭಗವಾನ್ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ವ್ಯಾದಿದೇಶ ಹ ||

ಸ|| ಮಹಾತ್ಮನಾ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೇನ ಸ್ವಾಗತಂ ತವ ಚೇತ್ ಉಕ್ತಃ | ಭಗವನ್ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ಆಸನಂ ಚ ಅಪಿ ವ್ಯಾದಿದೇಶ ಹ||

The great soul that is Vasishta told him" Welcome to you". Then offered him a seat too.

ಉಪವಿಷ್ಠಾಯ ಚ ತದಾ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಾಯ ಧೀಮತೇ |
ಯಥಾ ನ್ಯಾಯಂ ಮುನಿವರಃ ಫಲಮೂಲಾನ್ಯುಪಾಹರತ್ ||

ಸ|| ತದಾ ಮುನಿವರಃ ಧೀಮತೇ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಾಯ ಉಪವಿಷ್ಠಾಯ ಯಥಾ ನ್ಯಾಯಂ ಫಲಾನ್ಯುಪಾಹರತ್ ||

Then the best of sages made the high-minded Viswamitra to sit and offered him fruits etc as per the practice.

ಪ್ರತಿಗುಹ್ಯ ತು ತಾಂ ಪೂಜಾಂವಸಿಷ್ಠಾತ್ ರಾಜಸತ್ತಮಃ |
ತಪೋsಗ್ನಿಹೋತ್ರಶಿಷ್ಯೇಷು ಕುಶಲಂ ಪರ್ಯಪೃಚ್ಛತ ||
ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ವನಸ್ಪತಿ ಗಣೇ ತಥಾ |
ಸರ್ವತ್ರ ಕುಶಲಂ ಚಾಹ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ರಾಜಸತ್ತಮಮ್||

ಸ|| ರಾಜಸತ್ತಮಃ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಾತ್ ತಾಂ ಪೂಜಾಂ ಪ್ರತಿಗುಹ್ಯ ತಪಃ ಅಗ್ನಿಹೋತ್ರಃ ಶಿಷ್ಯೇಷು ತಥಾ ವನಸ್ಪತಿ ಗಣೇ ಕುಶಲಂ ತಥಾ ಪರ್ಯಪೃಚ್ಛತ || ವಸಿಷ್ಠಃ ರಾಜಸತ್ತಮಮ್ ಸರ್ವತ್ರ ಕುಶಲಂ ಚ ಆಹ ||

That best of kings having received the worship offered by Vasishta, then enquired about the penance, the fire rituals, and his students. In the same way he enquired about the forest wealth too. Vasishta then told him that everything is fine .

ಸುಖೋಪವಿಷ್ಠಂ ರಾಜಾನಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಮಹಾತಪಾಃ |
ಪಪ್ರಚ್ಛ ಜಪತಾಂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣಸ್ಸುತಃ ||

ಸ|| ಜಪತಾಂ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ಮಹಾತಪಾಃ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಣಸ್ಸುತಃ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ಸುಖೋಪವಿಷ್ಠಂ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ರಾಜಾನಂ ಪ್ರಪಚ್ಛ ||

Vasishta who is the best among sages and also son of Brahma,then addressed the King Viswamitra seated comfortably.

ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ ತೇ ಕುಶಲಂ ರಾಜನ್ ಕಚ್ಚಿದ್ಧರ್ಮೇಣ ರಂಜಯನ್ |
ಪ್ರಜಾಃ ಪಾಲಯಸೇ ವೀರ ರಾಜವೃತ್ತೇನ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ||
ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ ತೇ ಸಂಭೃತಾ ಭೃತ್ಯಾಃ ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ ತಿಷ್ಠಂತಿ ಶಾಸನೇ |
ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ ತೇ ವಿಜಿತಾಸ್ಸರ್ವೇ ರಿಪವೋ ರಿಪುಸೂದನ ||
ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ ಬಲೇಷು ಕೋಶೇಷು ಮಿತ್ರೇಷು ಚ ಪರಂತಪಃ |
ಕುಶಲಂ ತೇ ನರವ್ಯಾಘ್ರ ಪುತ್ತ್ರಪೌತ್ರೇ ತವಾನಘ ||

ಸ|| ರಾಜನ್ ! ತೇ ಕುಶಲಂ ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ | ವೀರ ಧಾರ್ಮಿಕ ರಾಜವೃತ್ತೇನ ಧರ್ಮೇಣ ಪ್ರಜಾಃ ಪಾಲಯಸೇ ರಂಜಯನ್ ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ ? ತೇ ಭೃತ್ಯಾಃ ಸಂಭೃತಾ ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ | (ತೇ) ಶಾಸನೇ ತಿಷ್ಠಂತಿ ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ | ರಿಪುಸೂದನ ! ತೇ ಸರ್ವೇ ರಿಪವೋ ವಿಜಿತಾಃ ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ | ಹೇ ಪರಂತಪಃ ಬಲೇಷು ಮಿತ್ರೇಷು ಕೋಶೇಷು ಕಚ್ಚಿತ್ | ಹೇ ನರವ್ಯಾಘ್ರ ಅನಘಾ! ತೇ ಪುತ್ತ್ರ ಪೌತ್ತ್ರೇ ಕುಶಲಂ |

"Oh King ! Hope you are doing well. oh Dharmika ! Oh Vira ! Hope as a Royal responsibility following the righteous path and taking care of the people you are making them happy. Hope you are taking care of your staff. Hope they are following orders. Oh King! Hope you defeated all your enemies. O Tormentor of foes ! Hope your forces, friends, treasury are fine . O Anagha! Hope your children and grand children are fine too!

ಸರ್ವತ್ರ ಕುಶಲಂ ರಾಜಾ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುದಾಹರತ್ |
ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ವಿನಯಾನ್ವಿತಃ ||

ಸ|| ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ವಿನಯಾನ್ವಿತಃ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ಸರ್ವತ್ರ ಕುಶಲಂ (ಇತಿ) ಪ್ರತ್ಯುದಾಹರತ್ ||

The most powerful Viswamitra replied the sage Vasishta with due respect saying all are fine !

ಕೃತ್ವೋಭೌ ಸುಚಿರಂ ಕಾಲಂ ಧರ್ಮಿಷ್ಠೌ ತೌ ಕಥಾಶ್ಶುಭಾಃ |
ಮುದಾ ಪರಮಯಾ ಯುಕ್ತೌ ಪ್ರೀಯೇತಾಂ ತೌ ಪರಸ್ಪರಮ್||

ಸ|| ಮುದಾ ಪರಮಯಾ ತೌ ಧರ್ಮಿಷ್ಠೌ ಸುಚಿರಂ ಕಾಲಂ ಪರಸ್ಪರಂ ಪ್ರೀಯೇತಾಂ ಶುಭಾಃ ಕಥಾಃ ಯುಕ್ತೌ ||

Thus with great happiness the two followers of dharma had a long and pleasing conversation exchanging auspicious stories

ತತೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೌ ಭಗವಾನ್ ಕಥಾಂತೇ ರಘುನಂದನ |
ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಮಿದಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಉವಾಚ ಪ್ರಹಸನ್ನಿವ ||

ಸ|| ಹೇ ರಘುನಂದನ ತತಃ ಕಥಾಂತೇ ಭಗವಾನ್ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಃ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಂ ಇದಂ ವಾಕ್ಯಂ ಪ್ರಹಸನ್ನಿವ ಉವಾಚ ||

'Oh Raghunandana ! Then towards the end of that conversation venerable Vasishta spoke to Viswamitra with a smile'.

ಅತಿಥ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತುಮಿಚ್ಛಾಮಿ ಬಲಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಯ ಮಹಾಬಲ |
ತವ ಚೈವಾಪ್ರಮೇಯಸ್ಯ ಯಥಾರ್ಹಂ ಸಂಪ್ರತೀಚ್ಛಮೇ ||
ಸತ್ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಂತು ಭವಾನೇತಾಂ ಪ್ರತೀಚ್ಚತು ಮಯೋದ್ಯತಾಮ್|
ರಾಜಾ ತ್ವಂ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ಪೂಜನೀಯಃ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನತಃ ||

ಸ|| ( ಹೇ) ಮಹಾಬಲ ಅಸ್ಯ ಬಲಸ್ಯ ತವ ಚ ಏವ ಯಥಾರ್ಹಂ ಸಂಪ್ರತೀಚ್ಚ ಮೇ ಅತಿಥ್ಯಂ ಕರ್ತು ಮಿಚ್ಚಾಮಿ|| ಭವಾನ್ ಏತಾಂ ಮಯೋದ್ಯತಾಂ ಸತ್ ಕ್ರಿಯಾಂ ತು ಪ್ರತೀಚ್ಚತು | ರಾಜಾ ತ್ವಂ ಅತಿಥಿ ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠಃ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನತಃ ಪೂಜನೀಯಃ ||

"Oh Powerful one ! I want to extend you and your forces our hospitality. Please accept our hospitality. O King you are the best among the guests one can have and you deserve our honors".

ಏವಮುಕ್ತೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೇನ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರೋ ಮಹಾಮುನಿಃ |
ಕೃತಮಿತ್ಯಬ್ರವೀತ್ ರಾಜಾ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ಮೇ ತ್ವಯಾ ||
ಫಲಮೂಲೇನ ಭಗವನ್ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ ಯತ್ತವಾಶ್ರಮೇ |
ಪಾದ್ಯೇ ನಾಚಮನಾಯೇನ ಭಗವದ್ದರ್ಶನೇನಚ |
ಸರ್ವಥಾ ಚ ಮಹಾಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞ ಪೂಜರ್ಹೇಣ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಃ |
ಗಮಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ ನಮಸ್ತೇ ಅಸ್ತು ಮೈತ್ರೇಣೇಕ್ಷಸ್ವ ಚಕ್ಷುಸಾ ||

ಸ|| ಏವಮುಕ್ತೋ ಮಹಾಮುನಿಃ ವಶಿಷ್ಠೇನ ರಾಜಾ ವಿಶ್ವಾಮಿತ್ರಃ ಮೇ ತ್ವಯಾ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾಕ್ಯೇನ ( ಆತಿಥ್ಯಂ) ಕೃತಂ ಇತಿ ಅಬ್ರವೀತ್ | ಭಗವನ್ ! ಯತ್ ತವಾಶ್ರಮೇ ವಿದ್ಯತೇ ಫಲಮೂಲೇನ ಪಾದ್ಯೇನ ಆಚಮನಾಯೇನ ಭಗವತ್ ದರ್ಶನೇನ ಚ | ಮಹಾಪ್ರಾಜ್ಞ ಸರ್ವಥಾ ಪೂಜಾರ್ಹೇಣ ಸುಪೂಜಿತಃ | ಗಮಿಷ್ಯಾಮಿ | ನಮಸ್ತೇ ಅಸ್ತು| ಮೈತೇಣ ಚಕ್ಷುಸಾ ಏಕ್ಷಸ್ವ ||

The king Viswamitra then replied to the Venerable sage who spoke as above. " With your pleasing words we have been honored. Oh Bhagavan ! With fruits, refreshments and your presence too we have been honored. Oh Knower of everything ! In all respects we have been honored by one who is himself is in all respects honourable. Please cast glances of friendship on us. I will go. Salutations to you".

ಏವಂ ಬ್ರುವಂತಂ ರಾಜಾನಂ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಃ ಪುನರೇವಹಿ |
ನ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಯತ ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮಾ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಾರುದಾರಧೀಃ ||

ಸ|| ಏವಂ ಬ್ರುವಂತಂ ರಾಜಾನಂ ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮಾ ಉದಾರಧೀಃ ವಶಿಷ್ಠಃ ಪುನರೇವಹಿ ಪುನಃ ಪುನಃ ನ್ಯಮಂತ್ರಯತ|

Vasishta who is righteous and who is generous then again and again requested the king who replied as above.

ಭಾಡಮಿತ್ಯೇವ ಗಾಧೇಯೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ಹ |
ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಿಯಂ ಭಗವತಃ ತಥಾಸ್ತು ಮುನಿಪುಂಗವ||

ಸ|| ಗಾಧೇಯೋ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಂ ಭಾಢಮಿತ್ಯೇವ ಪ್ರತ್ಯುವಾಚ ಹ | ಮುನಿಪುಂಗವಃ ಭಗವತಃ ಯಥಾ ಪ್ರಿಯಂ ತಥಾಸ್ತು ||

Then the son of Gadhi agreeing with Vasishta spoke as follows ." Oh Bhagavan ! Oh best of sages ! Let it be as you wish !"

ಏವಮುಕ್ತೋ ಮಹಾತೇಜಾ ವಸಿಷ್ಠೋ ಜಪತಾಂ ವರಃ |
ಅಜುಹಾವ ತತಃ ಪ್ರೀತಃ ಕಲ್ಮಾಷೀಂ ಧೂತ ಕಲ್ಮಷಃ ||

ಸ|| ಏವಂ ಉಕ್ತಃ ಮಹಾತೇಜೋ ಜಪತಾಂ ವರಃ ವಸಿಷ್ಠಃ ತತಃ ಪ್ರೀತಃ ಕಲ್ಮಾಷೀಂ ಧೂತಕಲ್ಮಷಃ ಅಜುಹಾವ ||

'Having been told thus the Vasishta the best among those with riches of penance called the speckled cow (Kamadhenu)'

ಏಹ್ಯೇಹಿ ಶಬಲೇ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ಶೃಣು ಚಾಪಿ ವಚೋ ಮಮ |
ಸಬಲಸ್ಯಾಸ್ಯ ರಾಜರ್ಷೇಃ ಕರ್ತುಂ ವ್ಯವಸಿತೋsಸ್ಮ್ಯಹಮ್||
ಭೋಜನೇನ ಮಹಾರ್ಹೇಣ ಸತ್ಕಾರಂ ಸಂವಿಧತ್ಯ್ವಮೇ ||
ಯಸ್ಯ ಯಸ್ಯ ಯಥಾ ಕಾಮಂ ಷಡ್ರಸೇಷ್ವಭಿಪೂಜಿತಮ್ |
ತತ್ಸರ್ವಂ ಕಾಮಧುಕ್ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಮ್ ಅಭಿವರ್ಷಕೃತೇ ಮಮ ||

ಸ|| ಹೇ ಶಬಲೇ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ ಏಹಿ ಏಹಿ | ಮಮ ವಚಃ ಶೃಣು ಚ ಅಪಿ | ರಾಜರ್ಷೇಃ ಅಸ್ಯ ಬಲಸ್ಯ ಅಹಂ ಕರ್ತುಂ ವ್ಯವಸಿತೋಶ್ಮಿ ||ಭೋಜನೇನ ಮಹಾರ್ಹೇಣ ಸತ್ಕಾರಂ ಸಂವಿಧತ್ಸ್ಯ ಮೆ |ಮಮ ಅಭಿವರ್ಷಕೃತೇ ಯಸ್ಯ ಯಸ್ಯ ಯಥಾ ಕಾಮಂ ಷಡ್ರಸೇಷ್ವ ಅಭಿಪೂಜಿತಮ್ ತತ್ಸರ್ವಂ ಕಾಮಧುಕ್ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ರಂ|

"Oh Sabala quickly come come ! Hear my words. The king and his army are to be feasted. Oh Kamadhenu please shower food of six tastes on all as per each of their desire and requirement to their satisfaction".

ರಸಾನ್ನೇನ ಪಾನೇನ ಲೇಹ್ಯಚೋಷ್ಯೇಣ ಸಂಯುತಮ್ ||
ಅನ್ನಾನಾಂ ನಿಚಯಂ ಸರ್ವಂ ಸೃಜಸ್ವ ಶಬಲೇ ತ್ವರ ||

ಸ|| ಹೇ ಶಬಲೇ ರಸಾನ್ನೇನ ಪಾನೇನ ಲೇಹ್ಯಚೋಷ್ಯೇಣ ಸಂಯುತಂ ಸರ್ವಂ ಅನ್ನಾನಾಂ ತ್ವರ ಸೃಜಸ್ವ||

"O Sabala ! Please quickly present varieties of food including juices and solids".

ಇತ್ಯಾರ್ಷೇ ಶ್ರೀಮದ್ರಾಮಾಯಣೇ ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೀಯೇ ಆದಿಕಾವ್ಯೇ ಬಾಲಕಾಂಡೇ ದ್ವಿಪಂಚಾಶಸ್ಸರ್ಗಃ ||

Thus the fifty second Sarga of Balakanda in Valmiki Ramayana comes to an end.
